Notes: |
On 5/3 Observed 1/2 mile East from station: Daugher said kids played outside at recess under shelter during hail fall. Observed from work in Lynden, about 7 miles NW of station: No hail pad available, time and size is approximated. Hail fell during steady strong winds for at least 15 minutes, with five minutes of intense hail fall. Inside the office it sounded like a strong wind storm. Hail looked soft, not bouncing off sidewalks much. More than the typically brief hail shower, it poured down hail a relatively long time. Most I've seen all at once. People were saying it was hailing sideways out there but when I looked outside it was less than 70 degrees after the strongest winds passed. |
