Notes: Heavy rain associated with pea-sized hail and thunderstorms in Escondido, approximately at 2:07 p.m. The heaviest portion of this storm lasted for 10 minutes with burst-intense rain and hail. Temperature dropped 5 degrees in this period with a rainfall rate of .01” per minute. Drainage was overwhelmed with cars dangerously speeding through flooded waters. NWS San Diego issued a Special Weather Statement for portions of North County at 2 p.m. Though pea-sized hail and gusty winds up to 30 mph were expected, there were no heavy winds that came with this thunderstorm.
