(Complete report deferred until tomorrow morning because it is getting dark. There will probably be damage in the garden.)
Added 7:58 AM, 8/28/2014. Originally I reported that the dominant hail was 3/8 in diameter and that there was no rice sized hail. I learned this morning when I collected the hail pad that the numerically dominant hail was rice sized and the greatest volume of hail must have been pea sized. These results were confirmed by Marith, my wife this morning, who had taken shelter in the barn where she could both hear and see the hail storm. I checked the garden this morning and there was no damage. |
