Under clear skies, the 4-some of plows dance nimbly past on the freeway, maintaining a constant distance if 18" from end of blade to start of blade as they clear the width of the freeway in 1 pass. Thrilling to see, hear!! As a unit, they slow to bridges with #4 pulling his blade tip in so to not throw any debris onto road below (they can lift, extend, shorten, lengthen, and make blade fly with internal controls, just as they can increase the mix of sand to salt they drop on the road (usually only 2 drop but automatically, the machine men say "throw" and their mount throws salt and sand on the bridge deck (very icy), or turn offs, slip roads/ramps so to better protect 'their' public.
Thank you, Snow Riders in the Night. I've listened for for 27yrs, riding on your shoulders, riding in your minds!!
Thank you!! |
