Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-TZ-26
Station Name: Pekin 3.6 SSE
Report Date: 9/19/2021
Submitted: 9/20/2021 2:24 PM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
It has been 18 days since I recorded any rain and I am uncertain what condition to report. Surface conditions are dry, the grass growth has really slowed down, and the pond level has dropped a couple of inches below the overflow. So Mildly Dry would be my call but considering that this is September, it is not that unusual to have a dry spell, and I had an above average August, Near Normal would be a good call. So I will pick Near Normal but dry as my rating. The farmers are working non-stop on picking the corn fields while the beans are drying up nicely and we should see some of the fields picked very soon. The garden requires watering and I am still picking a few tomatoes, some peppers and broccoli. The cottonwoods are dropped their leaves and the burning bushes are starting to turn red all signs of fall.
