Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MA-BA-57
Station Name: Falmouth 5.7 N
Report Date: 9/19/2021
Submitted: 9/19/2021 7:08 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Might seem strange to hang a ‘near normal’ three weeks into a month that’s already brought us nearly three times the average (11.21” against 3.96”), but that seems right. Thanks to a bountifully wet last few weeks, this station now stands at 53.48” for the water year-to-date against an annual average of 49.31”. We’re finally seeing soil moisture such that absorption after a rain event allows for standing water in a few places along the bogs for more than a day, as it does in normal periods. Area water restrictions are still in place, deservedly, but it’s progress. After an early start on some trees, foliage is starting to turn more or less as it should. Wildlife activity is normal.
