Scale Bar: Moderately Wet
Description:
HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE! We were lucky with rain earlier in season; those were gentle and soaking. This month we've had two crazy storms, the most recent yesterday as Tropical Storm Claudette(?) raged through. Crazy winds blasted through so that rain has been horizontal or almost so. Soil that looks stable enough was eroding, especially on our slope. Rain barrels and mini ponds have been overwhelmed.
I haven't been to the lake recently but I'm sure it's up. The engineered creek was HIGH HIGH in its bed but it does drop quickly (since it's engineered to do so). This is probably fantastic for water supply as the reservoirs are likely in need of refilling after the high demand spring (sprinklers). I think we're up to normal or high normal, but the last years have been so wet it's hard to know /remember "normal". I'm sure those out west are jealous; we too wish we could send rain our your way!

Plants are happy; the grass and shallow rooted ones were having a bit of a hard time but most had been doing okay; they're probably happy now (if they weren't seedlings which may have washed away). I have driven past crops but can't really speak to their vitality; I presume good...?
