The Crow River between Glencoe and Silver Lake on Country Road 2 has risen and the sand bar I have been watching for months is not as visible as it has been for most of the summer. However, the river is still below its normal level.
Soybean harvesting is finished in our area, and corn harvesting has been progressing rapidly. Many harvested fields have been worked up for fall. Most farmers are very pleased that it is somewhat dry right now!!
Soon the deer and turkeys will have only swamp and woods areas for cover.
