The wet ground here may be contributing to the enormous amount of tree pollen that is making many of us in southern NH miserable.  Between that and the black flies which have plenty of running water to breed in, being outside in the prime time for gardening is almost impossible. We had a thunderstorm right over us the other night, unusual since our little mountain usually diverts storms away from us on the east side.  It dropped almost half an inch of rain in less than an hour.
