With the heat baking the very clay abundant soil in my area then fast rain dumps up to 2in in an hour or less, water just runs off the soil. So it seems very wet in some spots where flash flood water can pool and sit in lower areas, But the higher ground  a few hours later is back to hard split clay with no moisture really at all. I still need to water any plants on hillsides or landscaping that isnt in a low area where water can pool and those plant need to be water hardy since it can be enough water to pool and not dry for days at a time. mosquitoes are at an all time high very dense populations all over the community, Wasps are very much active and in great numbers already also. flies are also very high in population.  the humidity levels have been no less then 88% for about a month, with heat index highs reaching in the 90s and 100s more often than not. have to run Dehumidifier in basement round the clock. And an air conditioner in each room,on the upper floors.
