Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: RI-PR-135
Station Name: Pascoag 0.5 SSW
Report Date: 7/5/2025
Submitted: 7/05/2025 7:03 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
With 1.20” of rain last week conditions are now near normal for early July. The Pascoag Reservoir is at 8’11” and not quite overflowing the spillway. The lawn has gone dormant in sections but still needs mowing once a week in others. The hostas and day lilies in the yard are in full bloom although both have had their flowers eaten by deer (mother and fawn) that are living on the island in back of our house. They must have been pretty frightened by this year’s massive fireworks displays up and down the lake! There have been no warnings about water quality so far on Pascoag Reservoir but several lakes in the area (Wilson Pond, etc.) have blue green algae and water use is restricted by RI DEM. Several hummingbirds have been regular visitors to our feeder. Sparrows, waxwings, woodpeckers and hawks have been very active and the mallard chicks are now as big as the mother. Fire danger at George Washington state park is still listed as Medium. Happy Independence Day!
