Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-HY-30
Station Name: Colona 0.5 ESE
Report Date: 5/25/2025
Submitted: 5/25/2025 8:26 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
What a difference a healthy shot of rain can make. Last week conditions were borderline Moderately Dry with grass starting to turn brown and the ground hard and cracking. This week I am going to say conditions are Near Normal. With 3.47" of measured precipitation over the course of 4 days, grass greened up, garden plants look heathier and the beans and the corn in the nearby fields shot up. There is still some standing water in low spots in fields. Area rivers rose. With below normal temps to start this week, the soil should continue to retain some of the moisture. NOAA MTD is above 100%, and YTD and Water YTD are in the low to mid 80th percentile. There are a couple days forecasting a chance for rain this week, so Near Normal should reign again this week.
