Conditions are still dry, D2 drought designation. This station in right on the edge of the driest area to our northeast, where wetlands and lakes without dams are quite low. Some lake levels have dropped again this spring, ice is all out as of Friday. Topsoil moisture is good, but very dry below 4". Most ag is south and west of here, where things are noticeably wetter. Bears are active in town, raiding bird feeders, ripped a board off our friends house and broke into her front porch, so must be short of natural foods. White-throated sparrows arrived today. Waterfowl numbers are down, due to avian flu.
