Description:
The April showers thing maintains that reputation. While we had only about a half inch of rain this past week (0.51"), only two days had 0.0 to report and two "T" days.
Spring flowers are showing up in earnest. The flowers are everywhere, from trees (apple, cherry, maples and more) to tiny wildflowers (little bright blue flowers, wild violets, bloodroot), and flowering bulbs (tulips, daffodils). Those that flower in May and later are coming back to life too.
Temps have warmed enough this week that bees are showing up as well. Why not - all those tempting flowers out there. Mason bees are coming out of their "houses" and the big bumblebees are buzzing around and zooming around each other in circles. Tip something over and earth worms start squirming away.
May begins this coming week and with that the sense that summer will be here soon enough. For now, it's great to enjoy spring...
