Although Southern Wisconsin had a snow drought this year, we have had adequate moisture. March and April stand at 5.47", which brought ditches, marshes, frog ponds and sloughs to normal levels. Year to date I had 6.72" which is normal, water year 1.97" above normal of 12.97". There is good surface moisture, and a few farmers are doing spring tillage. Things are greening up slowly and there is a high wildfire danger when it is dry. The Baraboo River has dropped to a little below normal. It is not muddy for outdoor construction.
