March 24 - 30, 2025: a trace more than a total of 0.15" rain; variable weather during the past week as storms move from the Pacific coast through SW Idaho--windy to calm; periods of rain to dry; overcast to sunny; warm to cooling overnight; normal March weather. Apricot trees are blooming; forsythia are in full bloom; crocus have been beautiful but are now fading; grass is growing rapidly; royal crown fritillaria has been above ground for the past week and has blooms beginning to form; leaves just opening on the apple trees; pulmonaria is covered with many-colored blooms; spring yard and garden cleanup jobs are nearly finished. Pollen counts, especially for cottonwood and juniper, have been very high to extreme for the past 2 weeks. Rain in the valleys and snow in the higher mountain and foothill elevations. Reservoirs are filling and water is being released to the Boise River to make room. Discharge in the Boise River at Glenwood bridge was increased in steps from about 3,800 cfs on March 27th to 4800 cfs on March 29th. Water has not been released to the New York canal yet.
