This week is I am still calling for Mildly dry conditions, leaning toward Moderately dry. Only had just at 0.30" of rain this week. Ground is dry, but grass is continuing to green up and grow. Have had lots of windy days that has dried the topsoil. There were a couple days of fire warning for dry vegetation. Yearly and Water YTD are still in the 80th percentile. There were a couple rain chances this past week that did not materialize. More chances forecasted for this week. Will have to see how those systems pan out. More farmers have been moving anhydrous tanks but no real field work yet. Up and down temps with each passing front, with temps mainly above normal. Rivers have maintained their levels this past week. The Mississippi River is forecast to rise over 2 feet this coming week. That should put it where it really needs to be for barge traffic.
