Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: AR-PL-1
Station Name: Mena 3.2 WNW
Report Date: 3/19/2023
Submitted: 3/19/2023 6:44 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Wet
Description:
We’ve received 1.19” of rainfall this week and it occurred on Thursday evening. Things have dried up a bit but it’s still a little wetter than normal. Our 30 day total is 9.03”. Temps were near normal earlier in the week but cooled off considerably after the cold front came through on Thursday night. We’ve had a couple of hard freezes the last couple of mornings in the mid 20s and that has set back plant growth. Soil moisture seems above normal but streamflows above average for this time of year. Fire danger is minimal but has increased due to the drier windy weather we’ve had the last couple days. Some controlled burns were done this past week and I’d assume they will start burning soon again once the winds decrease.
