I finally feel good about setting the scale to Near Normal after the almost 2" of SWE we received over the past 3 days. It is melting off fast which means the rivers will be way up and probably not great for fishing, but we are in spring thaw season so no great expectations for fishing quality. Very much needed for flora and fauna as we have been below normals for most of the current Water Year. Snotel sites are registering approximately 100% of normal SWE in my nearby basins (all in Green in the NWCC iMap) in Northern Colorado, less to the south of me. The dump of snow in the high country is great for snowshoe and backcountry skiing but the avalanche danger is increased and is currently set at moderate for all reported elevations (CAIC).
