Description:
The week started off warm with high temperatures in the 70's before cooling off later in the week and becoming windy with a storm moving through on Friday night to Saturday morning. High temperatures dropped to the 60's later in the week and then to 51° on Saturday. The high of the week and year, so far, was 76° on Sunday and Monday. The low of the week was 33° on Saturday. Clouds increased on Friday with rain and a thunderstorm in the early evening with even some brief hail. It turned to snow during the overnight hours. A total of .46 inches of rain/melted snow and 1.2 inches of snow fell. All the snow melted Saturday. It was windy later in the week but especially on Friday. A lot of blooms on the crabapples, redbud, and pear seem to have been damaged from an earlier freeze and may not bloom. Harvesting a lot of asparagus and the peas are coming up. Saw swallows in the neighborhood but haven't seen any coming into the yard. Did see a chipmuck in the backyard and the frog comes and suns himself in a pot at the top of the pond daily, half submerged. A lot of robins, blackbirds, and finches in the yard.
