Description:
April 27-May 3, 2024
Brignac, Louisiana

Drenching rain provided enough irrigation for the week. Landscape plants are growing well and my fertilized lawn is jumping. Spring weeds have set seeds and are starting to dehisce as summer weeds like chamber bitters and lespedeza weed are sprouting. Maypop vines have been flowering for a couple of weeks now but no sulfur butterflies are around yet this spring.
Mulberry trees are still producing fruit which the starlings are taking advantage of. And a new crop of squirrels has emerged and making their way to the feeding table. Mayhaw fruit are continuing to fall yet there is one selection that is still pea sized and green! Pecan trees are loaded with female flowers that I hope are fertilized. Drainage ditches are low and not flowing
