Station Number: MS-CH-3
Station Name: Clarksdale 2.9 SW
Report Date: 4/28/2024
Submitted: 4/28/2024 6:57 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Weekly precipitation was 0.37 inches. Last Sunday and Monday were nice and cooler than the rest of the week. A warmup began Tuesday with a South wind and back in the 80s by Wednesday. Thursday was only 73 for a high with mostly cloudy skies and a light rain shower (0.07) around mid-day. Friday was very windy from the SSE (up to 36 peak gust) with a high of 85. A thundershower in the 1 to 3 AM range Saturday morning dropped 3 tenths. Saturday was again very windy from the SE (37 peak gust) with a high of 86 and complete drying out occurring. We have been getting plenty of planting done (cotton and beans now) and spraying and drain digging etc. this past week. Most trees are fully leafed-out now with some just getting started. Lots of crop emerging in the area. I did notice that neighbors who planted corn before the week with 5 inches of rain in 3 days did not get a stand and are having to replant. Beans made it through ok because they can be planted shallow. Over all conditions seem normal.
