Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NC-DH-48
Station Name: Durham 4.5 N
Report Date: 6/21/2021
Submitted: 6/21/2021 12:15 PM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Yesterday's rainfall of 0.59 inches was the amount received in the past 8 days. However, we have surpassed the normal monthly average of 4.02 inches with a total of 4.14 inches. Even with all the rain from yesterday, the low wet spot is damp and I can hardly make a discernible footprint. The Mildly Dry selection is due to days without rain followed by brief but heavy downpours which does not allow for a ground soaking event.

The nuts on the Shagbark Hickory are around 26 mm in diameter while the Pyracantha berries are near 3 mm. The rose hips are noticeable but there are no flowers. The Forsythia is doing well. The limbs of the shaded Glossy Abelia are very breakable. Most of the flowers on the Gardenia are wilting or have fallen off. The flowers on the other Glossy Abelia are in the process of wilting, falling off and regenerating(?). The Holly Bush berries are about 7 mm in diameter.

We saw a fledgling crow asking to be fed yesterday. We are not seeing many birds as the natural foods are becoming abundant.
