Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MI-AG-6
Station Name: Munising 11.1 SSW
Report Date: 6/21/2021
Submitted: 6/21/2021 10:11 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
I’ve had to water my garden almost everyday except for a couple days when we received almost a half inch of rain over 3 days and today where we received 0.73”. I’ve only cut grass twice since May. I usually cut weekly. Lawn has brown areas.
We’ve had RedFlag days and the Hiawatha National Forest has issued a Stage 1 fire alert that restricted grill use and banned fireworks.
We’ve had several fires in the UP this season and we’ve met fire crews from other states that are here.
Note: our winter gave us half the snow we usually see at a little over 100”!
Rain has been down this year But it’s a sharp reversal of the last few years where we have seen above normal snow and rain. So our lakes and rivers are down but not yet abnormally low. One good thing at least to humans is less mosquitoes this year. Flies and ants are more common however.
