Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IA-BT-11
Station Name: Mount Auburn 2.2 NNW
Report Date: 6/21/2021
Submitted: 6/21/2021 7:47 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Days of the past week were consistent in being hot and dry, unusual for this time of year in IA. Concerns were voiced about the droughty conditions and when would it end as most western states experiencing the same. However, on Sunday, some rain developed in the area early that morning and more wide spread later that evening. The grass and plants changed overnight with brighter green coloring. The corn leaves were waving in the breeze instead of being curled in self protection. The recent rain provides a short reprieve as an inch doesn't replace the needed moisture that has been lost as the ground is dry more than a foot into the soil.
