Rains late in the week, followed by night time freezing temperatures have prevented us from working soil (gardens).
Earlier in the week, SOME farmers were able to start tilling soil; but that changed later in the week.
ENERGY: use of heating systems still required
FIRE: level is likely high, as vegetation is still a bit dry/brown until perhaps 2 weeks with warmer temps when it will green up
PLANTS: blooming: popcorn spirea; snowball vibernum; forsythia; dandelions; henbit; dead nettle; tulips; daffodils; grasses; pine (pollen starting) oak, birch, junipers
WILDLIFE: nothing out of the ordinary at this time
SOCIETY & PUBLIC HEALTH: flu is still being diagnosed
TOURISM & RECREATION: normal
WATER SUPPLY & QUALITY: rising rivers (but not threatening) and also wind swept out of creeks due to high winds - makes boating and fishing a bit tricky
Relief: there are still organized events to provide furnishings and supplies to those who were affected by Hurricane Florence here locally last September
