An inch of rain last Wednesday didn't do too much to relieve the drought. Very high winds on Friday made off with a lot of moisture. Woods walk yesterday - the lakes and streams are extremely low, and we've never seen the ponds in front of our home (been living here for 15 years, but visiting for over 60) this low.
Fog at night on many occasions is the only thing saving the forests from an extreme fire danger, and thankfully, there have not been many fires.
Many wells still dry, and the inch of rain did not much to bring them up.
