Submitted: 9/25/2022 2:07 PM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Spotty showers with an accumulation of about a half inch of rain have made for fairly normal conditions. Ground conditions at an 8 to 10 inch depth in areas examined show a slightly moist soil with some crumbling. Plants that are still flowering are goldenrod, hydrangeas, roses, delphinium, goldsturm, mums, asters and lavender (reblooming). Annuals still hanging on include petunias, nasturtiums, cleome, marigolds, zinnias, daisies, gazanias, and fuschia. Grass is green, thick and verdant, requiring weekly mowings still. Due to cooler temperatures,it hasn't been necessary to run the air conditioning as often. Retention pond has normal water levels. Water color varies from a light tan in some areas to green in others. A small flock of Canadian geese was spotted resting on the banks beside the pond. Some minnows were also seen swimming in the shallows. Vegetation around the water is green and healthy. Birds at the feeders and the bird bath included bluebirds, blue jays, sparrows, house finches, goldfinches, woodpeckers, mourning doves, and a soaring redtailed hawk.
