Report Date: 4/23/2024

Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
April 17-23, 2024: No precipitation. Cool mornings (upper 30s-low 40's) and mild days (50's). Breezy to windy during the day. Garden and yard plants are thriving in the spring weather, but the soil is dry--cracking in places. The yard irrigation well is now on, all hose connections checked and repaired. Lawn grass is growing fast, needing to be mowed several times in the past couple weeks. Red-tailed hawks are back, cruising the neighborhood for meals. Squirrels are keeping a low profile when the hawks fly over! Discharge in the Boise River at Glenwood Bridge has been bumped up to about 3,900 cfs. Snow is rapidly disappearing on the ridgeline and highest peaks above the valley. Owyhee Mountains in the distance still have a solid snowpack on the peaks.
